Executive Search Lead – Technology at Canonical
Canonical is a leading provider of open‑source software and operating systems. Our platform, Ubuntu, powers breakthrough initiatives across public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation and IoT for global enterprises and technology leaders.
As a global remote‑first company with 1,200+ colleagues in 75+ countries, we are looking for an experienced Talent Scientist to lead senior executive search and coaching for our Technology business.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a search strategy that enables headhunted talent to move smoothly through the pipeline.
Coach senior leadership teams to become experts at attracting exceptional talent.
Lead talent analytics, using SQL or Python to identify trends and provide real‑time insights.
Conduct in‑depth behavioural talent interviews, delivering actionable motivation and behaviour insights.
Build relationships with global stakeholders, monitor hiring activities, and ensure consistency in operational processes.
Continuously improve hiring processes to achieve superior outcomes.
Promote diversity and inclusion, removing unconscious bias from sourcing strategies.
Qualifications
Professional head‑hunting experience from a reputable executive search firm or in‑house search function in the Technology industry.
Exposure to psychometric assessments and experience training stakeholders on behavioural interviewing.
Strong analytical skills—experience with SQL or Python to identify trends and patterns from data.
Exceptional academic background (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Psychology or a people‑centric discipline plus solid mathematics).
High level of personal organisation for effective remote work.
Willingness to travel to company events 2–4 times per year (up to two weeks each).
Other Skills You May Bring
Advanced analytical and statistical analysis of data.
Experience with Greenhouse ATS, Thomas International, DISC profiling.
Knowledge of psychometric validity and reliability metrics.
