Performs communication-related activities and routine clerical duties.Job ResponsibilitiesOperates telephone console.Answers incoming calls on the main number and calls for the Operator, then extends the call to the appropriate extension.Places authorized outside calls according to policy.Performs communication and emergency activities.Pages authorized personnel overhead, announces visiting hours, and other notifications.Answers general questions from callers as per policy.Communicates with floors regarding patient room changes.Responds promptly to TTY calls.Logs difficult or questionable calls and alerts management.Performs routine clerical duties.Maintains records, files, and cards related to charges, admissions, and other information.Responds to alarms in the office.Provides telephone and room numbers as required.Expedites calls.Uses MED-HELP to access patient information.Additional duties include making routine decisions within defined parameters, assisting with communication projects, and performing related tasks as required.
