Energy Utility Ops Business Manager, EPO
The Amazon Energy Procurement Operations (EPO) team manages supply contracts post‑execution, provides controllership and governance of energy spend, tracks environmental attributes and ensures our energy supply portfolio is compliant with external regulations, contract obligations, and internal policies. You will be a part of the team responsible for managing the world’s largest portfolio of corporate renewable energy contracts.
Key Job Responsibilities
Support overseeing energy agreements and invoice ingestion management globally.
Support the onboarding process for energy contracts and Data Center site locations across different geographies with a large number of counterparties and internal stakeholders. Track progress and drive for successful completion.
Support data connectivity activities, including oversight of vendors and service providers, planning and scheduling activities, commercial issue resolution, and overall management of data connections.
Report and analyze portfolio performance in collaboration with other teams, identifying impacts to our business units and our customers.
Support the management of contractual obligations with counterparties and drive internal processes and workflows to fulfill obligations on Amazon’s behalf.
Plan and drive execution of initiatives to improve our energy operations. Continuously seek to invent and simplify in order to achieve further scale effect for Amazon’s management of its energy portfolio.
Work collaboratively with other AWS and Amazon teams to support the management of the energy programs.
Consolidate portfolio reporting KPIs to help define program goals and use metrics to draw business insights.
Support invoicing, accounts payable/receivable workflows to ensure transaction readiness and continuity of operations.
Support energy compliance obligation tracking, reporting, filing, and fulfillment.
Oversee outside spend contract management, including onboarding, budgeting, forecasting, and conflict resolution.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
3+ years of project/program management experience
Experience in Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coordinating cross‑functional inputs, meeting deadlines, and effectively managing competing priorities
Experience with supplier or vendor relationship management
Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks
Experience working in the utility/energy industry – compliance, regulatory, asset/contract management, market operations or similar

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
