OverviewHitachi Energy is looking for a Project Engineer based in Lodi. This role is responsible for electrical design assignments on projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical engineering solutions, including electrical drawings, LV cables routing and calculations according to specification.Develop electrical design of LCC in Eplan (or E3), customizing the design according to the customer’s specifications and/or specific product needs.Contribute to design reviews and design verification; modify design as necessary.Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform electrical engineering assignments. Provide technical support for LCC (Local Control Cubicle) suppliers, testing, installation and commissioning activities. Prepare project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.Assist in preparing proposals for engineering projects (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).Support Project Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.). Provide quality solutions as per customer requirements and deliver within budget and contract. Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.Create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility and ensure quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Improve effectiveness of work plans in collaboration with other functions.Complete risk and opportunity assessments and ensure implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility. Report any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management along with recommendations for resolution.Assist and interact with customers, suppliers on technical issues and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables. Assist communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers. Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals.Use standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility. Ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
