You are a passionate Electrical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical and instrumentation engineering. You thrive in Agile environments and enjoy working across international teams to develop innovative automation systems. You're detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute to the full lifecycle of product development—from concept to delivery.
About the job
Based in Monza, Italy, you will join our Automation Development team, responsible for designing advanced control systems and IoT solutions for Alfa Laval's core products and customized projects. In this role, you will be involved in the electrical design and maintenance of automation systems, contributing to high-quality, safe, and efficient solutions.
Your main tasks will include
Reviewing customer automation inputs and project specifications
Estimating budget hours based on scope
Performing LV electrical design calculations
Participating in peer reviews and quality processes
Coordinating design activity planning
Collaborating across sites within our Device Competence Space
What you know
Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
Proficiency in electrical design tools such as ePlan P8 or similar
Knowledge of standards: EN60204-1, UL508a, EN 60079-1
Experience with marine approvals, verification, and documentation
Familiarity with prototype/MVP design approaches
Expertise in safety calculations and LV design
Experience with ATEX and hazardous area electrical design (Zone 1 & 2)
Strong skills in electrical engineering drawings
Background in project work and product development
Project management experience is a plus
Fluent in written and spoken English
