Responsibilities include:
Completing required training certificates and maintaining certifications or credentials as mandated by Federal, State, and national accreditation bodies involved in DoD's Child and Youth Programs.
Passing all relevant records and background checks.
Consent to and pass pre-employment and random drug testing; a positive result or refusal to test can lead to withdrawal of the job offer or removal from the position.
Undergoing a pre-employment medical examination, providing immunization evidence, being free of communicable diseases, and obtaining necessary immunizations.
Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, must certify registration with the Selective Service System.
Possessing required documents such as No-Fee Passport, Sponsor's Orders or Command-sponsorship authorization, and sojourner's permit/application letter.
May be required to operate a vehicle, including government vehicles for transporting children.
Conditions of Employment
Must be 18 years or older.
Meet all training and certification requirements.
Pass all background and records checks.
Consent to drug testing as outlined.
Complete a medical exam and immunizations.
Physical ability to perform required tasks.
Male candidates must certify registration with the Selective Service System if applicable.
Possess necessary documents and possibly operate a vehicle.
Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate relevant experience and skills, including:
At least 1 year of experience at the CY-02 (GSE-04) level and relevant training or credentials, or a related 2-year degree.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for children and youth aged 6 weeks to 18 years.
Understanding of child and youth development principles and practices.
Skills in law enforcement related to child abuse prevention, program planning, leadership, emergency response, curriculum development, and effective communication.
Education
Options include:
Completion of DOD Standardized Module Training and a high school diploma or higher.
Child Development Associate (CDA) or Military School-Age (MSA) credential with a high school diploma or higher.
Associate or higher degree in related fields such as Early Childhood Education, Child Development, etc.

The Navy CYP Employee Transfer Program allows eligible employees to request transfers within Navy-operated CYPs worldwide.
All federal employees must comply with drug-free workplace policies, including drug testing and background checks, with specific disqualifiers outlined by DoDI 1402.05.
