As a Documentation Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in improving the Logistic & Handling processes within the Sites / Factories for wind turbine blades via the quality of the documentation. You will have a keen focus on modern documentation principles and technologies, drive towards standardization to ensure fast updates or creation of documentation to Logistic, all to secure process stability and capability to improve overall business performance: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
Responsibilities
Creation and updating documentation to Shopfloor / Logistic teams (workers, quality and logistic teams) within Handling & Logistic operations.
Updated documentation is always available where needed.
Be loyal to the documentation principles described.
Engage in obtaining feedback from shop floors and logistic and Logistics & Handling teams on the function and quality of the documentation delivered.
Perform internal quality checks of the documentation.
Perform internal maturity checks of the documentation against our documented criteria described.
Keep stakeholders up to date on documentation lead time.
Develop training material for reading / use of the documentation package.
Collaborate closely with the documentation specialists from other teams and share lessons learned.
Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
Maintain a thorough focus on modern documentation systems and material including process vision, laser systems and other digital enabling systems.
Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality.
Education
Bachelor engineering or alike
GB lean
Courses within Technical writing or and communication
Experience
About 6 years of experience in similar roles as described above
Worked with
Create process flow
Establish and maintain work instructions paper or digital
Validation of own work
Participate in development of Handling & Logistic documentation
Worked in a data driven organization
Optimization and standardization within manufacturing documentation with use of the toolbox also mentioned above
Essential skills
Proficient writing and communication skills: Ability to simplify complex information.
Technical knowledge: Especially important for Logistic documentation, which will involve all types of transportation and storage systems, production processes, or software systems. Also the ability to translate technical jargon into user-friendly language.
Attention to detail: Accuracy is critical in documentation that supports operations or compliance.
Willingness to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Use of tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams to identify and solve production issues.
Self-motivated, result-oriented and possess strong organizational discipline.
Ability to build an intensive network across cultures and time zones and work with stakeholders.
Customer-oriented and able to understand the complete business value chain from a customer perspective.
