OverviewVestas San Marco dei Cavoti, Campania, ItalyDocumentation Engineer role focusing on improving logistics and handling processes at sites and factories for wind turbine blades through documentation quality. The position emphasizes hands-on field learning, modern documentation principles and technologies, and standardization to ensure up-to-date and effective logistics documentation supporting SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost).ResponsibilitiesCreation and updating of documentation for production and logistics teams (operators, quality and logistics) in handling and logistics operations.Ensure updated documentation is always available where needed.Adhere to documented documentation principles.Actively collect feedback from production, handling and logistics teams on the functionality and quality of provided documentation.Create systems and structures to ensure documentation includes agreed information such as control points, tolerances, out-of-spec actions, PPE and similar details.Perform internal quality checks on documentation.Conduct internal maturity verifications of documentation against documented criteria.Keep stakeholders informed about documentation delivery timelines.Develop a process roadmap for improvements.Develop training material for reading and using the documentation.Collaborate with documentation specialists from other teams and share lessons learned.Help build a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability.Focus on using modern documentation systems and materials, including process visualization, laser systems and other enabling digital tools.Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as 5 Whys and fishbone diagrams.Apply continuous improvement principles using Lean and Kaizen tools to reduce waste, improve efficiency and ensure final product quality.QualificationsEducation: Degree in engineering or equivalent.Lean certification (GB Lean).Training in technical writing and communication.ExperienceApproximately 10 years of experience in similar roles.Experience in:Creating process flows.Drafting and maintaining operating instructions (paper or digital).Validating one’s own work.Knowledge or creation of control plans.Development of documentation for handling and logistics.Working in data-driven organizations.Optimizing and standardizing production documentation using the aforementioned tools.Essential SkillsWritten and verbal communication: ability to simplify complex information.Technical competence: essential for logistics documentation involving transport and storage systems, production processes or software systems; ability to translate technical jargon into understandable language.Attention to detail: accuracy is critical for documentation supporting operations or compliance.Willingness to spend time in a production environment to understand and resolve issues.Data-driven decision making.Use of problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams and FMEA to identify and resolve production issues.Knowledge of Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.Active participation in cross-functional product development projects.Personal motivation, results orientation and strong organizational discipline.Interest in working with others in a large organization and ability to build a network across cultures and time zones, collaborating with stakeholders.Customer focus and ability to understand the entire value chain from the customer perspective.Commitment to continuous learning.DEIB StatementIn Vestas, we value diversity, equity and inclusion to promote innovation and success.
