The person in this role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, diagnosing and providing quality repairs of electrical generator systems and related engine mechanical failures.The Generator Service Technician is both the technical expert and primary customer support contact to the customer, and is therefore responsible for continually communicating with the customer to provide an exceptional customer experience and drive data center up-time and availability.Key Job ResponsibilitiesKnow and follow all Company safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in company accident prevention and safety improvement activitiesRespond to customer requestsTravel to designated sites and perform professional quality field service repairs consistent with company standardsAdvise the Generator Service Manager of parts needed for necessary repairsKeep Generator Service Manager continually apprised, and utilize leadership to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessaryDocument detailed, complete and legible descriptions of all repair operations performedAccurately record time, expenses, and mileageTravel 80-90% of the time in an assigned region, and/or work overtime, weekends, or holidays, sometimes on short noticeLift up to 40 lbs frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 40 lbsWear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as requiredBasic QualificationsHigh school or equivalent diplomaTechnical (Military/Trade School) training or 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in a mission‑critical infrastructure or equivalent experience in a relevant industry (for example: electrical or mechanical)1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)Preferred Qualifications2+ years of data center engineering experienceAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $133,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
