This role is based in São Paulo and will cover LatAm, working with another Compliance & Ethics Manager based in Bogota. The position suits someone with a background in compliance and ethics, particularly in AFBAC (anti-bribery, fraud and corruption) risks, supply chain risk, cultural risks, whistleblowing, control environments and records management. The role sits in WPP’s Business Integrity team within the Legal function and reports to the Head of Compliance & Ethics Americas (based in Seattle) who reports to the General Counsel, Corporate Risk (based in London) who reports to the Group Chief Counsel.
What you'll be doing
Support the Head of Compliance & Ethics Americas in ensuring the business integrity programme is understood in the region, and that resources, systems and processes align with the WPP Policy Book and Code of Business Conduct. Remediation actions may be required for WPP’s Latin American businesses.
Respond to and assist with day-to-day compliance, ethics and risk queries related to Latin America.
Identify areas of concern and root causes, report findings with recommended solutions, including remediation where required.
Monitor regulatory changes in the region and influence WPP’s businesses to align with policy and internal control frameworks.
Assist with designing and delivering business integrity training programmes for WPP staff.
Assist with information gathering for regulatory or legal requests.
Assist with local risk assessments, including completion, review and evaluation.
Collaborate with Corporate/HQ and network departments to achieve role objectives.
Investigate whistleblowing reports and breaches of the Code of Business Conduct and applicable laws in Latin America, as needed.
Perform any other tasks assigned from time to time.
What you'll need
Solution finder – able to identify and solve issues without a pre-determined programme and make viable recommendations
Ability to deliver results in a commercial environment with strong written and verbal communication skills
Investigative experience including knowledge of chain of evidence procedures and confidentiality of sensitive material
Ability to manage and prioritise a large and varied workload effectively
Professional background within legal, compliance or ethics; qualifications are desirable
