We are seeking a Clinical Behavior Coordinator to join our team and serve as a vital link between clinical expertise and residential program implementation. This is an opportunity to combine your behavioral knowledge with hands‑on coaching and leadership in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
As a Clinical Behavior Coordinator, you will be the go‑to resource for behavioral support within our residential programs. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that behavior plans are not only written but effectively understood and implemented by the residential team. This includes on‑shift training, side‑by‑side coaching, modeling, and role‑playing to build staff confidence and competency. You will assess staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure compliance with all documentation and regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will work closely with Behavior Specialists and the clinical team to develop, monitor, and refine behavior plans, ensuring they are practical, effective, and tailored to individual needs. You will also provide immediate support during acute behavioral situations, helping staff recognize triggers, intervene proactively, and maintain a safe environment. Your expertise will guide interventions, retraining, and continuous improvement efforts.

Schedule: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM or 12:00 PM–8:00 PM (with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, and weekends)
Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 12 hours per month

Core Responsibilities

Deliver hands‑on training and coaching to residential staff on implementing behavior plans.
Evaluate the effectiveness of individual plans and recommend modifications to improve outcomes.
Review shift documentation for accuracy and compliance with program standards.
Debrief interventions within 24 hours and ensure timely completion of incident reports.
Facilitate retraining and implement immediate protections following incidents or administrative reviews.
Actively participate in leadership meetings, interdisciplinary treatment teams, and committees.
Serve in the clinical on‑call rotation to provide timely support across programs.
Maintain compliance with all OPWDD regulations and agency standards.
Obtain and maintain certification as a SCIP trainer.

Qualifications
To qualify as a Level 2 BIS, you must meet one of the following criteria:

(A) BCBA and Master’s degree in behavior analysis or a closely related field approved by OPWDD.
(B) Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field OR NYS license in mental health counseling, plus OPWDD‑approved training in functional assessment and behavior plan development.
(C) Bachelor’s degree in human services, continuous OPWDD behavioral service experience since 2012, and active progress toward a Master’s degree in an applied area of psychology, social work, or special education.

Additional requirements:

Valid NYS Driver’s License.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet program needs.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
