Child and Youth Program Assistant
Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in any of the Child and Youth Services programs and/or age groups. Maintains control of and accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs for program participants, based on the group and individual children and youth, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years.
Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults.
Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements.
Maintains program participation data and completes daily reports.
Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old or a 17-year-old dependent of a Service member or Department of Defense Civilian Employee.
Must have a valid Social Security Card and be enrolled in Direct Deposit.
Meet qualification, eligibility, physical, and background requirements for this position.
Must have a current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable diseases, and up-to-date immunizations in accordance with Army and DoD policies, including annual influenza vaccinations.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Complete and sign DA 3433 prior to entering on duty.
For positions in Child Development Centers, must be physically able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand routinely.
Legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect.
Trained individuals may be required to administer medications, perform CPR and first aid, and provide accommodations for children with special needs.
Travel to on and off post locations may be required. Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors.
Must be a citizen eligible under the country SOFA Agreement, with an official No-Fee Passport and Mission VISA.

Qualifications
For Entry Level (CY-01):

High school diploma or GED is required. Applicants who are 17 and dependents of Service members or DoD Civilian Employees and are pursuing a high school diploma are eligible.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

For higher levels such as Skill Level (CY-01) and Target Level (CY-02):

Education

Minimum high school diploma or GED required.

Additional Information

Recruitment Incentive: $200 bonus and $800 retention bonus for this standing register, valid until canceled by CYS Management.
Eligibility for incentives applies to newly hired or rehired individuals from this announcement. Bonuses are paid upon appointment and after 6 months of satisfactory employment.
