The candidate will be responsible for leading teams in a multicultural environment across countries, driving technical excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation. This role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement firmware solutions in low voltage devices, such as breakers and transfer switches.Work ModelThe work model for the role is: hybrid.This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power globally.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of firmware engineers in a multicultural environment, providing guidance and support in their professional development.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and to ensure required skills are developed.Align the development framework with current and upcoming standards and regulations, often aiming at specific certifications.Drive best practices in firmware development, including coding standards, documentation, and testing methodologies.Ensure code quality expertise, including static code analysis and code reviews, is applied to maintain high standards in firmware development.Be part of a broader community of Chapter Leaders within ABB Electrification Business to share knowledge, best practices, and foster collaboration.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in firmware development, with a strong understanding of embedded systems.People management experience, demonstrating the ability to manage, develop and inspire team.Familiarity with GIT and DevOps practices.Familiarity with communication protocols.Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.Expertise in code quality practices, including static code analysis and code reviews.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.What’s in it for you?We empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
