The Category Manager, Sportswear is responsible for setting the strategic direction and long-term vision of the Sportswear category, ensuring sustainable growth and commercial consistency across seasons. The role provides category leadership by defining priorities, performance targets, and merchandising guidelines, acting as a strategic reference point between brand positioning and business execution.
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive the Sportswear category strategy with a strong focus on commercial performance and growth.
Lead seasonal assortment planning and category architecture in collaboration with Design, Product, and Merchandising teams.
Own pricing, margin targets, and volume objectives for the category.
Partner with Planning and Sales teams to optimize sell-in and sell-through.
Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and performance data to inform strategic category decisions.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, or Product roles within sportswear.
Strong commercial mindset and solid understanding of merchandising dynamics.
Proven ability to translate brand direction into commercially successful assortments.
Fluent in English and Italian.
