Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Focused on execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage the sourcing process, from evaluation of requestor’s requirements to PO placement for a specific set of Goods
Manage vendor tooling, including spending authorizations, refurbishment and replacement needs, monitoring plans for the construction of new tooling, and the status of existing tooling for a specific set of Goods
Understand the Castings Commodity needs based on Commodity Strategy in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team and Casting Technical Expert
Support the strategy definition and execution for the specific set of goods within the Casting Commodity, including de‑risking activities.
Support Supplier management with the aim to strengthen relationship with strategic suppliers and create action plan for critical suppliers, in collaboration with strategic team
Perform spent analysis for the given set of goods within Castings commodity and with reference to the Budget and Long Range Forecast goals (including deflation, cost out, days to pay)
Apply cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations
Negotiate PO, following applicable company and government regulations
Support Negotiation of development and purchase long‑term contracts, following applicable delegation of authority, company and government regulations, maintaining accurate records of the agreements, and related documentation.
Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects
Work in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of OTD, delinquency and vendor recovery, applying LEAN method to problem solving
In doing so, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customers.
Qualifications / Requirements
Fluent in Italian and English
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Basic analytical and problem‑solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitude
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
Knowledge of SAP MRP software system
Proficient in MS Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
Highly motivated team member
Proactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomy
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Availability to job travel (20%)
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of current market conditions and sources of supply
Knowledge of castings processes and tooling management
Previous experience in sourcing organization
Negotiation skills
Positive working attitude and proven understanding of how to be an effective service provider within an organization
Ability to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriately
