MISSION
Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the role is responsible for planning, selecting, and purchasing the required products, as well as contract negotiations with major suppliers. The position supports the Business Unit (BU) to achieve targets related to competitiveness, time to market, new project development, supply base growth, and rationalization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the definition of global commodity strategies to optimize the supply base in terms of quality, efficiency, and technological advancement.
Manage the assigned perimeter by gaining a deep understanding of the supply market and fostering innovation input from suppliers to promote it within the organization.
Ensure sourcing of new components for the assigned perimeter.
Control and supervise the pricing of materials and components from suppliers.
Collaborate on the development of the supplier list, analyzing markets (both national and international) to find more favorable supply opportunities.
Support the development of strategic supplier partnerships and ensure procurement-related risks are controlled and mitigated.
Manage relationships within a cross-functional team of specialists (e.g., supplier quality and local procurement specialists) and communicate with sales and production managers about their requirements.
Assist SCM and Procurement in ensuring the stable supply of required materials and communicate any potential supplier issues that could threaten production continuity.
Develop the supply base in terms of operational KPIs (OTD and service level to production plants).
Responsible for the assigned budget.
Build and monitor the implementation of purchasing strategies.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
Experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of casting parts is a plus.
Strong leadership and effective communication skills.
