We’re looking for a Billing Product Owner (EU) to take charge of our billing strategy across Europe. You’ll be the go‑to person for shaping how we manage billing at a regional level, balancing customer experience, compliance, and smooth processes at scale.
This role is about setting direction, making priorities clear, and working hand‑in‑hand with Kraken, Octopus Energy Engineering teams, and our local Ops teams in each country (France, Italy, Spain, Germany and UK). You’ll keep the roadmap sharp, bugs and features under control, and make sure the right things get delivered by the right teams at the right time.
What you’ll do
Set the vision – Own the EU billing strategy and make sure it aligns with business goals and local market requirements.
Own the backlog – Prioritise features, improvements, and bugs related to billing, keeping customer and Ops impact front of mind.
Drive delivery – Work closely with Kraken, Octopus Energy Engineering teams, and Ops teams to make things happen.
Connect the dots – Gather input from local Ops and finance teams to make sure we’re solving the right problems.
Keep it moving – Share progress and priorities clearly with stakeholders, flagging risks early.
Improve continuously – Spot roadblocks, simplify how we work, and find ways to make things simpler and more scalable.
What you’ll bring
Experience as a Product Owner, ideally in billing, payments, or fintech.
Strong prioritisation skills – able to balance business, customer, and Ops needs.
Great communicator, comfortable working with and influencing both internal teams and external partners.
Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset, not afraid to dig into the details.
Experience working in agile environments with product and tech teams.
Nice to have
Experience as a Product Owner, ideally in billing, payments, or fintech.
Strong prioritisation skills – able to balance business, customer, and Ops needs.
Great communicator, comfortable working with and influencing both internal teams and external partners.
Hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset, not afraid to dig into the details.
Experience working in agile environments with product and tech teams.
Nice to have: Exposure to the energy sector.
Background working across multiple countries or regions.
Ability to speak another European language (in addition to English).
