Senior Cloud Data Engineer – Full Remote
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer with solid experience in Big Data environments and cloud-native architectures. The candidate will work in an international context, contributing to the design, optimization, and management of large-scale data infrastructures and pipelines.
This position is full remote.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage data exploration clusters using technologies such as PySpark, Dask, and Dataproc.
Optimize analytical and big data workloads, ensuring high performance on massive datasets stored in Cloud Storage (e.g., Parquet files) and BigQuery.
Define and optimize storage formats and strategies based on workload requirements.
Develop and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines for both batch and real-time processing using Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Pub/Sub.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, data analysts, product engineers) to support new initiatives and enhance existing processes.
Monitor, analyze, and improve the performance of data pipelines and infrastructure.

Technical Requirements

Strong experience with cloud-native architectures, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.
Excellent command of PySpark, Dask, Dataproc, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub.
Deep knowledge of performance-oriented data formats (Parquet, ORC, Avro).
Solid experience in building scalable and robust ETL/ELT pipelines.
Ability to optimize costs, performance, and architectures in enterprise cloud environments.

Language Skills

Excellent proficiency in English (international working environment).
Excellent proficiency in Italian.
German knowledge is a plus.

Strong communication skills and team collaboration attitude.
Ability to manage priorities effectively in complex and dynamic scenarios.
