As a Backend Engineer at Translated, you will play a crucial role in developing applications and integrations for the Lara ecosystem - our advanced LLM-based translation system - contributing to the documents, web application and SDKs for external system integration across different platforms and languages. This is a unique opportunity to join a newly formed team working on the company's fastest-growing and most strategic project. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the backend of our new translation product, ensuring scalability, security, and seamless integration with external systems. Working alongside the team, you will help shape the product and drive its success.
What You’ll Do

Be involved and participate in the overall Lara applications lifecycle.
Main focus on coding, debugging and testing.
Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future.
Develop functional and sustainable applications with clean codes.
Troubleshoot and debug applications.
Optimization of the applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers and system administrators.
Stay up to date with current best practices.

Requirements

Experience with Node.js, its tools and ecosystem.
Deep Knowledge of Typescript.
Good knowledge of Linux platforms.
Experience with Amazon AWS.
Experience with Relational DBMS (MySQL).
Experience with NoSQL DBMS (Redis).
Experience with version control GIT and Github workflow.
Experience in one or more of the following areas:

SDK : strong knowledge of SDK development, with experience in integrating and customizing libraries for various platforms and applications;
vision : strong knowledge of advanced browser APIs, with a focus on implementing multimedia features like camera and video;
browser extensions : hands-on experience developing browser extensions and optimizing web applications for enhanced performance.

Nice to have

Experience with Docker.
Experience with Message-Oriented Middlewares (Ex: ActiveMQ, SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ, etc..).
Experience with Linux environments, configuration and troubleshooting.

Work arrangement
This position requires daily in-office presence, so we are unable to accommodate fully remote work. However, we value flexibility and offer the opportunity to work up to 48 days remotely per year, allowing for a balanced and adaptable work experience.
