Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is looking for an Associate to join our Export & Agency Finance Team in Milan.
You’ll be part of a dynamic team that works with top corporate clients on transactions supported by Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and Multilateral Agencies. Santander CIB is the global leader in Export & Agency Finance (ranking first in the last 3 years league tables), giving you the opportunity to work on landmark international deals and collaborate with experts across the world.
We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting‑edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

Manage and develop a portfolio of corporate clients, helping them identify ECA/MLA‑backed financing solutions tailored to their needs.
Originate new business opportunities, both inbound and outbound.
Prepare client presentations, term sheets, and preliminary documentation.
Lead the internal approval process, from drafting papers to presenting to committees.
Collaborate with structuring teams in Madrid and origination teams across Santander’s global network.
Maintain an active relationship with SACE and other ECAs and MLAs to identify new opportunities and support ongoing negotiations.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Professional Experience

~5 years in similar roles within banks, financial institutions, or ECAs/MLAs – ideally in sales or structured finance. (Required)

Education

Master’s degree (with excellent results) in Finance, Economics, or a related field (Required)

Languages

Fluent English and Italian (Required)
Spanish is a plus (Preferred)

Hard Skills

Professional Background: in the field of export finance, structured and/or project finance transactions, with knowledge of the related documentation. (Required)
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. (Required)

Soft skills

Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking (Required).
Commercially driven, proactive, results‑oriented, and comfortable working both independently and in team (Required).
