The Global Field Medical Excellence Director / Associate Director role (GFMEx) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating Field Medical Excellence operations outside the US in support of the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) strategy and business objectives. The GFMEx Director / Associate Director will implement core capabilities through the TA playbook in collaboration with therapy area leads. Engaging with global, area, and affiliate medical teams, as well as cross-functional stakeholders, is essential. In-depth knowledge of business needs is required to create synergies and drive efficiencies across geographies.Working within a matrix, the GFMEx Director / Associate Director will serve as the SME on field medical within the TA, ensuring clarity and harmonization of roles and responsibilities, and maintaining compliance standards. A key responsibility is analyzing field activities using data sources and insights, then presenting these to global TA teams and extended medical excellence partners to guide strategy, processes, and resources for in-field teams.The role also includes driving engagement plans with global teams, ensuring clear communication channels with all stakeholders, and participating in the development of medical plans focusing on the role of field medical. Responsibilities include ensuring medical elements of IFT playbooks are aligned with GMA, collaborating with analytics teams on dashboards and KPIs, implementing medical strategies in affiliates, co-creating TA reports with digital ops, and managing the DPO/Insights process.Additional duties involve generating insights to shape global TA strategies, creating Medical Discussion Topics, facilitating training, ensuring TA medical challenger tools are in place, liaising with area TA & affiliate leads for feedback, organizing training sessions, onboarding, and continuous development programs. The role also encompasses developing soft skills frameworks, sharing TA best practices, ensuring cross-functional understanding of medical roles, coaching MSL managers, mapping engagement efforts, leading enhancement projects, updating MSL expectations, collaborating on Veeva initiatives, contributing to communications like the FM Newsflash, and participating in capability team meetings.Qualifications include an advanced degree in a health-related science, at least 10 years of scientific/medical experience in pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
