Position Title: Architectural Engineer

The Architectural Engineer responsible for the design, coordination, and integration of architectural elements in oil and gas facilities. This includes buildings and structures such as control rooms, substations, accommodation modules, offices, technical shelters, and safety enclosures. The engineer ensures designs meet functional; aesthetic, safety, and regulatory requirements and responsibilities are.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

Review and consent to the developed architectural designs and layouts for permanent and temporary buildings in oil and gas projects.
Review and consent to architectural drawings, specifications, BOQs, and material selections developed by EPC contractor.
Ensure that design covers harsh environments, including offshore, desert, and tropical conditions.
Ensure building design complies with fire protection, blast resistance, HVAC, and acoustic requirements.
Incorporate functionality, constructability, accessibility, and maintenance into design solutions.

Technical Coordination

Interface with structural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and safety teams to ensure integrated building design.
Review and coordinate architectural details with equipment layouts, cable routing, HVAC ducting, and piping penetrations.
Ensure proper inputs provided to 3D models (e.g., PDMS, E3D) and participate in model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%).

Standards & Compliance

Ensure architectural designs comply with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, ISO, OSHA, API, ABS for offshore).
Design to meet company/project specifications and environmental/safety regulations.
Provide support for HSE requirements including safe evacuation, fire-rated partitions, and emergency egress.

Construction Support

Review vendor/subcontractor drawings and ensure alignment with the overall design.
Perform site surveys and inspections during construction and finishing stages.
Support construction teams with technical clarifications and change management.
Verify architectural installations during pre-commissioning and punch listing.

Skills and Competencies:

Proficiency in architectural and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Navisworks).
Knowledge of blast-resistant and fire-rated building design for oil & gas.
Experience with accommodation modules, control buildings, substations, shelters, and MEP integration.
Strong communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Architectural Engineering from an accredited university.
Work experience of eight (8) years in the field of sought discipline after earning the BSc degree.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total, with at least the last 35 years spent on offshore projects.
Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write specifications and reports.
