FIT in Florence is currently accepting résumés for the position of Administrative and Faculty Services Assistant. This role supports the academic, legal, fiscal, and operational functions of the study abroad program and works closely with faculty, students, and staff to ensure the smooth functioning of program activities.Key Responsibilities :Academic SupportAssist faculty with course-related administrative tasks, including time banks, course scheduling, syllabus organization, and communications.Legal AdministrationSupport legal documentation and program compliance in coordination with legal counsel.Fiscal ManagementMaintain and monitor the faculty services budget in coordination with the accounting department.Handle faculty payments and financial tracking.Program SupportAssist with program logistics, including housing, orientation, scheduling, and events.Assist in organizing and attend academic and orientation-related trips and site visits (on a rotational basis).Support students’ health and wellness while abroad, monitor the program’s emergency phone (on rotation);Accompany students on urgent medical visits or hospital emergencies (on rotation and as necessary);Serve as a point of contact for faculty, students, and community resources.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Skills and QualificationsStrong independent work ethic and critical thinking skillsExcellent interpersonal, social, and communication skills—both written and verbal—in English and Italian.Ability to handle confidential information with discretionExcellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility to work outside of standard office hours for trips, events, or emergenciesCalm and solution-oriented approach in crisis situationsStrong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Shared Drive, Sheets, Forms, Sites, Calendar, Docs)In-depth knowledge of Florence and its local communityLegal eligibility to work in ItalyTechnical Tools :Familiarity with Brightspace, Arxivar, and Business Central is a plusPreferred QualificationsUniversity degreePrevious experience studying abroad, working with a U.S. university or Erasmus program, and/or professional experience in both Italy and the United StatesLocation :Start Date : Summer 2025Employment Type :Full-time, 1-year contract (renewable)To Apply :Please send your résumé, cover letter, and contact information for three (3) professional references to the provided email address.Only applicants with valid work documentation for Italy will be considered.About FIT and FIT in FlorenceThe Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) is an internationally recognized college of art, design, business, and technology and part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
